Teaching Your Students about their Brains:
The Super Friends who Live on Intelligence Avenue

Children are fascinated by super heroes, special friends and magical thinking. But often they do not know about the super, special powers that they have inside their own heads. In the first book of the children's series, BRILLIANT BRAIN BECOMES BRAINY, children are introduced to the many ways they can use their smart parts. This wonderfully illustrated book, accompanying audio tape and lesson plan make it easy to teach children about the power of their brains. Once they understand their own super powers, they can learn how to learn through pictures, through words, through music, through nature, through actions, through reflection, through interactions, and through logic

Travel with Brilliant Brain and Magnificent Mind around Intelligence Avenue
to learn more about specific strategies to use to master a skill related to school success and meeting higher standards. See how these two delightful characters interact with their 8 smart parts, modeling how all students can access their own intelligences. Each smart part comes alive as it provides a specific, usable strategy to enhance learning. This workshop will help students understand their multiple intelligences so they can be more independent and more successful in mastering the skills necessary in today's world.

Each of the six student books contains 8 different strategies for learning. Using the latest in brain based learning MM and BB provide a fun, creative, positive and useful way to help students learn how to learn. Once your students have learned the methods provided, they are encouraged to develop their own personal strategy banks to enhance their own learning and memory.

The teacher's manual (MI Strategies for Kids) is a wonderful, easy-to-read resource for anyone who wants to implement this brain based, empowerment model. It provides concrete examples, lesson plans for each of the books and the theoretical framework from which this series was created.

Specific Skill Seminars for teachers, parents and/or students are based on these new materials
